Just days before, the Cuban government warmly welcomed and warmly received another boat that had transported a significant amount of humanitarian aid to the country.

That boat, nicknamed "a modern Granma" following the name of the yacht in which Castro returned to Cuba to launch the revolution in the 1950s, carried solar panels, drugs, baby formula, bicycles and foodstuffs.
